WHY WE’RE BUILDING IT
Two sunglasses can share a model name and still be different pairs. Frame color, lens treatment, size, and materials change what you see—and what you wear. Shadepedia is being built to connect those exact product details to the bigger picture, across brands and retailers.
THE DIRECTORY AT LAUNCH
WHAT’S AHEAD
These are the experiences we’re working toward; they are not live yet.
Search by brand, shape, material, color, and fit. We also plan to help you scan a pair with your phone and find likely matches to verify.
See how models and their specific colorways differ, with lens, frame, and measurement details in one place.
Keep a record of the frames you own and save the ones you want, with your collection available across web and planned iOS and Android apps.
Our goal is to bring retailer offers together so you can compare availability, find a better deal, and set price alerts.
MADE FOR THE SPECIFICS
We’re organizing brand and model information alongside exact product specifications: frame shapes and materials, lens colors and treatments, fit, dimensions, identifiers, and source information. The goal is a place where the answer is more useful than a thumbnail and a price tag.
WE’RE JUST GETTING STARTED
Shadepedia is an eyewear discovery project from Varnyx LLC. The catalog is coming soon.
